Job Responsibilities

The Structures Mechanic repairs, replaces & rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings & fuselage using hand tools, power tools, machines & equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun & drills. Reads and interprets manufacturers' & airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data & other specifications to determine feasibility & method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. The Structures Mechanic maintains, repairs & modifies aircraft structures & structural components of varying degrees of difficulty; applies technical knowledge of airframe components; applies required expertise in conducting structural repairs & modifications; and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems.
